To celebrate the 2014/15 series of Brecks Heritage Building Skills workshops and introduce new work, West Stow Anglo-Saxon Village, 11am Saturday 19 September
Orchard Barn and the Breaking New Ground Landscape Partnerships, supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund, are holding an exciting event to help celebrate the completion of the new covered seat and noticeboard at West Stow Anglo-Saxon Village on Saturday 19 September at 11am. There will be the final topping off ceremony by Orchard Barn’s Sarah Partridge, and the official ‘opening’ by the Breaking New Ground Chairman Suffolk County Councillor Lisa Chambers. It’s a fantastic chance to see what the participants of last year’s Brecks Heritage Skills training courses learnt and built during the free series of workshops. Those that took part are invited to come along to catch up with fellow participants, and those with an interest in heritage building skills can find out more about this year’s new series of free workshops starting in October. The Breaking New Ground team will also be premiering the new short film made to record this fantastic project.
Cllr Joanna Rayner, St Edmundsbury Borough Council Cabinet member for Leisure and Culture said,
“The Brecks building skills workshops held at West Stow have been a great success, clearly showing. the strong connection people have with our traditional built environment. The free workshops were open to anyone with an interest and led by heritage experts in the unique surroundings of the West Stow Anglo-Saxon Village. I am sure the new series starting in October will be very popular.”
Teas and Coffees will be available. Places are limited so please book your place at www.eventbrite.co.uk – (search for BNG Brecks) or contact the BNG team at bng.admin@suffolk.gov.uk
Presentation of your parking ticket will also entitle you to a 10% discount at the new cafe should you wish to stay for lunch
