More West End smash hits streaming to Haverhill
Monday, 23rd September 2013.
Following the sell-out live screening of Othello coming up on Thursday, Haverhill Arts Centre is set to screen three more popular National Theatre plays in the space of one week.
On Thursday, October 31, at 7pm there will be Danny Boyle’s version of Frankenstein starring Benedict Cumberbatch as the creature and Jonny Lee Miller as Frankenstein.
On Saturday, November 2, at 7pm is the critically-acclaimed interpretation of Hamlet with Rory Kinnear as the Danish prince and on Thursday, November 7 at 7pm the Arts Centre will show the Alan Bennett play The Habit Of Art which stars Alex Jennings and Richard Griffiths as Benjamin Britten and WH Auden.
The plays chosen were all box office smashes in the West End, recorded as live, and will be projected onto the cinema screen. Tickets are £14 and £12.50 for concessions and Reel Culture film club members.
Haverhill Townm Council arts and leisure manager Nick Keeble said: "Our NT Live and Encore performances have proved exceedingly popular in bringing the best of British theatre to Haverhill.
"Our audiences really feel like they are getting a genuine theatre experience, seats can be reserved in advance and once the performance starts the audience are transported to the National Theatre.
"They forget they are watching it on the screen and it’s not unusual to hear a round of applause at the end!"
The Arts Centre will also screen a live performance of David Tennant as Richard II by the Royal Shakespeare company on Wednesday, November 13, at 7pm.
