Millennium baby is early
Tuesday, 4th January 2000.
The Lewis family from Haverhill had planned a quiet New Year's Eve celebration at home - but within hours of the clock striking midnight were proud new parents of baby Finlay.
David (41) and Denise (37) of Beaumont Court, Haverhill, didn't expect their second child for another 10 days. But soon after watching the celebrations on television at home they were on their way to the Rosie Maternity Hospital, Cambridge.
Finlay was born at 4:17am and weighed 7lb 13oz. He was one of 12 babies born at the hospital on New Years Day.
"We weren't planning to go anywhere, just to have a quiet evening at home!" said David, who works for North Street Garage.
Back at their Haverhill home is big brother Hayden (3). David said Finlay looks just like Hayden did when he was a baby. "He's a lovely, beautiful little boy", said a delighted David. And for the Lewis family it's been a great start to the New Year.
David and Denise are pictured with the new arrival Finlay.
