Met police launch murder hunt

METROPOLITAN police have launched a murder hunt after a 40-year-old Haverhill man died of head injuries following an assault in London.
Phillip Saville, of Haverhill Road, Little Wratting died of head injuries two weeks after being punched and hitting his head on the bumper of a car in Soho.
He was taken to hospital with a fractured skull and then later transferred to Wellington Hospital, London.
Mr Saville, who ran a drilling company and has worked on both the London Underground and Channel Tunnel leaves a wife, Anita and two children.
The police said that there were many witnesses and are keen to hear from two men of East European origin.
Detective Chief Inspector Ian West said: "We are especially keen to speak to two men believed to be of East European origin, one of whom sustained a neck and ear wound after being struck by a broken bottle.
Police believe that he may still have a mark or scar three weeks on from the incident. They are now examining CCTV images to see if they have images of Mr Saville's killers.
The two men police are seeking are described as 5ft 6in of proportionate build, black shaved hair, and is thought to be about 25 to 28 years old.
He was clean shaven with a slight stubble and according to Police spoke with an East European accent.
He was casually dressed with a black rucksack and possibly wearing shorts and a t-shirt.
The second man is described as 5ft 7in tall with slim build and short dark hair. He is again around 25 years of age and clean-shaven. Police suspect he has a facial injury as a result of being punched.
The inquest on Tuesday, into Mr Saville’s death was opened and adjourned until September 12 at Westminster Coroner Court.
