Meat factory damaged in blaze

Haverhill fire crews were among six that attended a blaze at the Vion Food Group meat processing factory in Little Wratting yesterday.
The fire broke out shortly before 3am and left the building with extensive damage which could run into tens of thousands of pounds.
The fire was located in a ground floor oven area, and and firemen used breathing apparatus at ground floor level and in the basement.
No one was injured but fire crews remained on site until 9am damping down the fire and using the turntable ladder from Bury St Edmunds to check for hot spots.
