Matthew Hancock MP welcomes investment from the top level of English football into Haverhill Community Sports Association

Matthew Hancock MP welcomes the news that Haverhill Community Sports Association has been awarded a £321,450 grant by the Premier League and The FA Facilities Fund to construct a new 106 x 70m floodlit third generation football turf pitch.
Work is set to begin in April and the grant will be transferred once the sports club have submitted a record of its spending on the project.
The facility is home to 39 Haverhill Rovers teams, Haverhill Borough first team and reserves and the main grass pitch is used by eight teams, including Rovers’ first-team, under-21 and under-18s, plus Rovers’ under-14 and under-15 Eastern Junior Alliance teams, a The Samuel Ward Academy British Colleges League side and the two Borough teams.
Commenting, Matthew said:
“This is great news for Haverhill Community Sports Association which is an excellent community sports club.
“I am pleased to see money coming from the top level of English football to Haverhill and I would encourage all other local groups and clubs in West Suffolk to explore all such funding options in order to help improve facilities in the area.”
