Matthew Hancock calls for urgent investment in A1307 at campaign launch

Local MP Matthew Hancock today attended the launch of a campaign calling for the dualling of the A1307.
The A1307 is the major road joining Haverhill to the main UK road network and campaigners say that the town is possibly the largest in the UK not on a primary route and that a new road will play a large part in bringing 8,000 new jobs to the county. Matthew has been calling for a solution to the problem of the A1307 since he was first elected in 2010.
Speaking at the event, Matt said:
"There is strong support for the dualling of the A1307. The current road is congested, it is deadly dangerous, and it cuts villages in two. A new road from Haverhill to Cambridge will bring millions of pounds in investment, will support local housing, and mean fewer people killed on the roads. I urge everyone to get behind this campaign to build the road that is so vital."
