Matt lifts title and goes to UK number one

Haverhill Leisure Centre personal trainer Matt Fitch has won the International Sports Kickboxing Association British Thai Boxing 70kg weight title.
Matt, 25, from Great Bradley, who was rated sixth in the British Top Ten before the fight and is now number one in the UK, competed for the title at the Battle Arena Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) in Bedford on Sunday, May 29, and won on points.
He has been boxing and Thai boxing for more than ten years and holds Thai boxing classes for beginners at Haverhill Leisure Centre on Mondays from 8pm, Tuesdays (beginners) at 7pm and mixed martial arts classes on Saturdays at 10am.
Matt, who works for Your Personal Training and is based at Haverhill Leisure Centre, said: “I am thrilled to have won. It was a good fight and my opponent put up a good defence but at the end of the day I clinched it on points. This is the culmination of years of hard work and a childhood dream.”
Alison Bowyer from Haverhill Leisure Centre said: “We are so very proud of Matt. He has been proudly showing off his trophy at the centre, and quite rightly.
"Matt is now teaching other aspiring young Thai boxers at the centre with his weekly classes and helping introduce people to Thai boxing as a great way to keep fit and shed the pounds.”
