Tuesday, 13th October 2015.
Local MP Matt Hancock has spoken of his support for the campaign to install traffic lights at Fiveways Roundabout.
Responding to a local petition addressed to him which has gathered over 2000 signatures, Matt made it clear that he agrees with the need to permanently change the layout at Fiveways Roundabout, including the installation of traffic lights. On Friday he met with from Wendy Chipping, the leader of the Safety At Fiveways campaign.
Commenting, Matt said:
“I fully support the campaign to improve Fiveways Roundabout and will do all I can to see it happen. It is clear that something needs to be done to address both the congestion and the accidents that are all too common at the roundabout.”
“I will continue to raise this matter with the Secretary of State for Transport as well as Suffolk County Council. The number of people who have signed the petition speaks volumes about the strength of local feeling on this matter and I would like to see the problems resolved as soon as possible.”
