Market move plan takes a step forward
Wednesday, 30th September 2009.
Moving Haverhill's Friday market into the high street came a step closer after it was revealed objections are now confined to the issue of disabled access.
The Haverhill Area Working Party of St Edmundsbury Council recently deferred the proposal because of objections raised during consultation.
But Haverhill Town Council meeting last night (Tuesday) was told by working party member Councillor Anne Gower the objection from one of the shops in the high street had now been overcome, and the main issue was now over disabled access.
New consultations were still going on with a representative of disabled blue badge holders, she said.
