Man held in custody over stabbing

A man accused of a stabbing in Haverhill on Friday, was, yesterday, remanded in custody by magistrates to appear before Ipswich Crown Court.
Warren McCormack, 20, of Church Street, Hundon, has been charged with wounding with intent and causing an affray. The incident is alleged to have taken place in Crown Passage in town at around midnight.
Yesterday when he appeared before Sudbury Magistrates Court where he was remanded in custody until March 26 when he is due before Ipswich Crown Court.
The victim, a forty-one year-old male was taken to Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge where he is recovering. His condition was described as serious, but not life threatening.
A twenty year old male was also arrested in connection with the incident. He was released on police bail pending further inquires.
Acting Det Sgt Bottomley of Suffolk Police is asking for anyone who witnessed the incident, or saw anyone acting suspiciously to contact him on 01284 774100.
