Man arrested after sex attack to face no further action

A 31-year-old man who was arrested by police in connection with an alleged sexual assault in Haverhill will face no further action.
The alleged attack happened in Haverhill when a 19-year-old woman had been walking along Crowland Road between 3am and 4am on Sunday 31 August.
The woman had been returning home after a night out in the town centre with friends when she was approached by a man who assaulted her.
The woman was spoken to by specially trained officers and medical staff at the county’s Sexual Assault Referral Centre and it is thought that she may have been sexually assaulted or raped.
Det Insp Nick Power said: "Our enquiries are continuing in connection with this incident. A number of people have been spoken to and statements taken.
"From the information we have received we are now in a position where the man who was arrested can be released from police bail and will face no further action.
"We would like to renew our appeal for information and we ask anyone who was in the area during the said times on Sunday morning, who hasn’t yet been spoken to call us, as you may be able to help us with our investigation.”
