Low turnout, but Labour keep Haverhill

LABOUR's landslide has not been contained to the General Election, Haverhill has once again returned two Labour councillors to County Hall.
This year's election has provided one of the lowest turnouts ever, hitting Labour hard. The turnout for Haverhill North was 562% and for Haverhill South 51.3%, respectively.
Former town Mayor and Borough councillor Maggie Lee is returned for Haverhill South, with Gerry Kiernan for Haverhill North both with majorities of 1,003.

Adam Whitaker, Conservative, 1963 (39.8%)
Majority 1003 (20.3%)
Turnout 4929 (56.2%)
Haverhill South
Maggie Lee, Labour, 2536 (62.3%)
Anthony Sutton, Conservative, 1533 (37.7%)
Majority 1003 (24.6%)
Turnout 4069 (51.3%)
