Look out for road closures on the Chalkstone estate from February 21
Friday, 11th February 2011.
The replacement of speed humps on parts of the Chalkstane estate will see sections of road there closed from time to time over the next six weeks.
Suffolk County Council will be removing existing speed humps, installing new speed cushions and resurfacing sections of Chalkstone Way, Millfields Way and Manor Road in Haverhill from Monday, February 21.
Most of the work will be carried out under daytime road closures, in various phases, between Monday, February 21 and Tuesday, March 1.
However, installation of the speed cushions will be carried out between Wednesday, March 2, and Friday, March 25.
The work also includes improvements to the drainage system and the re-instatement of zebra and various other crossing points.
All three roads will be closed along various lengths to carry out the works in phases. Access to all properties and businesses will be maintained, as will access for emergency vehicles.
Advance signing will be used to advise drivers of alternative routes and there will be a specialist traffic management team on site for the duration of the closures to assist residents and other drivers.
Suffolk County Council says it apologises for any disruption experienced by individuals or businesses during this period.
