Local singers last minute disappointment
By Martin Chapman on Friday, 7th September 2001.
LOCAL singer Kirsten Gunderson’s dreams of supporting Lionel Ritchie have been dashed just hours before the concert.
18 year-old Kirsten of Kedington, near Haverhill was supposed to be singing in athe concert to her largest ever crowd, 10,000 people tomorrow at the Peterborough River Embankment.
This week, however, the concert was cancelled and all the promoters, 2CB would say was that it was due to "unforeseen circumstances."
Kirsten, however is hopeful that she will still get the opportunity to meet the signer. She said: "I am disappointed. I have been so excited about this and I have been rehearsing for the past two weeks. It would have been a major concert for me."
"But these things happen and it's too soon to know what went wrong. It's all been a bit mad."
Kirsten’s debut album, which she is currently recording with Sanctuary/Sacred Records is expected to be out early next year.
