Lifesaving boost from local firm
Thursday, 25th April 2002.
Cash to pay for vital lifesaving equipment at Haverhill Ambulance Station is to be raised by local company Solutions in Recruitment (SiR).
The company hopes to raise thousands of pounds to help pay for extra equipment for the station’s team of 10 paramedics and technicians.
Tim Radford, proprietor of SiR, said they wanted to support a worthwhile cause in the local community and decided the ambulance service was most deserving.
“We plan to put on four fundraising events in the next year, with the service deciding how it can best spend the money.
“We’re very excited about this private/public partnership and hope that we help to improve patient care for local people,” Mr Radford said.
Simon Chase, team leader at Haverhill Ambulance Station, said paramedics would work with SiR staff in a joint effort to raise as much cash as possible.
“When we were approached we thought it was an excellent and novel idea. We’ve had other companies doing one-off fundraising before, but we’ve never linked up with a private firm in such a way before.
“If it does well it could open up all sorts of possibilities for other stations,” Mr Chase said.
