Library gets a taste of the Caribbean

Visitors to Haverhill Library will have a chance to listen to Guyana-born musician, writer and storyteller Shirley Bignell as part of Suffolk County Council's African History Month celebrations.
She will be there on Saturday, October 17 from 10.30am.
Shirley was born in Guyana, South America, but grew up in London and Surrey and now lives in Suffolk.
An experienced speaker, working with children and adults, she performs in dialect. Her poetry presentations are based on ‘Talking Caribbean’, the CD/Book she produced to support teachers delivering Caribbean poetry.
Her free sessions is aimed at all the family, from the very young to the older members. Contact the library on 01440 702638 to see if any free places are still available.
