Junior rugby makes a return
Thursday, 13th January 2000.
JUNIOR rugby is back on the fixture list at Haverhill and got off to a flying start with a decisive victory over Royston.
The new under-15 side played their first game and won 22-0 with a good all round team performance.
With the club's adult sides currently in top form, organisers hope even more youngsters will come forward to provide the teams of the future.
Peter Lester said the club had been providing youth coaching for several seasons, but this was the first time they had had enough players of the same age group to make a team.
More fixtures are planned in 2000 and the club is working with schools to try and start under-12s and mini rugby teams.
Anyone aged between 11 and 15 years who is interested in playing rugby should ring Mr Lester on (01223) 891642.
