Joust right at free family fun day
Thursday, 12th July 2001.
Plenty of free fun for youngsters was on offer on the Clements Estate at a fun day on Saturday.
The event, jointly organised by Haverhill Town Council and the Suffolk Punch Pub was held outside the pub.
Children could try their hand at gladiator jousting, driving wiggle karts, as well as joining in egg and spoon, sack races and welly throwing.
There was also a bouncy castle, face-painting and other children’s entertainment.
The group Rocking Revival played live all afternoon and a disco at the pub rounded off the day.
CAPTION: On guard … different combat styles were on offer at these events. Nicolle Babester and Farer Dobell try gladiator combat at Haverhill fun day.
