Jack rounds off his year with a half-marathon

Haverhill runner Jack Tappin took part in his last race of the year by competing in the Stevenage Half-Marathon on Sunday.
The 26-year-old was among 700 runners to tackle the 13.1-mile course, comprising two circuits of the city, and finished the route in one hour 49 minutes 21 seconds.
Tappin, who has taken part in seven triathlons and five half-marathons this year, said: "I was pleased to complete the run in under an hour 50 as the last half-marathon I'd done was in Soham in May and I was two minutes over that time then.
"I felt a little off the pace but didn't flag much so when I got nearer the end was confident I'd manage it, though felt so spent near the end I couldn't even muster my usual sprint finish.
"I've enjoyed my races of 2013 and hopefully can continue to improve next year and get my triathlon time down, perhaps looking to up the distance in 2015."
