It's going to be tough - Goodman
Thursday, 25th November 1999.
HAVERHILL Rovers captain Paul Goodman expects a tough test when his side travel to free-scoring Suffolk & Ipswich League leaders Grundisborough in the Suffolk Senior Cup on Saturday.
"We don't know a lot about them, but they score a lot of goals and I'm expecting a close game," he said.
"Walton -on-the-Naze, from the same league, won the competition last season, and they defeated a couple of Jewson League sides on the way, so we won't be taking any chances."
Goodman was pleased with Saturday's 4-1 victory at Brightlingsea, which moved them up to seventh place in the Jewson League Division One.
"I thought we played really well during the first half," he said, "and it was good to see all three forwards getting on the scoresheet.
"I know the manager was a bit disappointed with the second-half performance, because it was difficult to keep the momentum going once we had scored the fourth goal.
"I think the team work went a bit as everyone fancied getting on the scoresheet.
"We will need to play better on Saturday, as no team who is top of that league is going to be a push-over."
