Invitation open again to show your love for local businesses

Valentine’s Day is fast approaching and a Haverhill company is keen to encourage people to show their love not only for each other but for local businesses.
Elaine Carr, owner of thebestof Haverhill, is supporting a national campaign to encourage locals in Haverhill to show just how much they love great local businesses and the people behind those businesses.
The 14 Days Of Love campaign is designed to raise awareness of the hard work that local businesses do to maintain local pride and help grow the local economy.
Elaine said it provided an opportunity for local people to show their appreciation for the businesses that lie at the heart of our community.
She said: “This is a great promotion and, while it is a lot of fun and encourages some healthy competition between our business members, there is a serious message underpinning the campaign.
"Endorsements from your customers are so powerful. You can say whatever you want about your company and the amazing service you provide but it will never have as much impact on consumer choice as what your customers say about you. Authentic and honest customer reviews give a company huge credibility.
"The 14 Days Of Love highlights to our businesses the importance of asking their customers to 'share their love' for them and to highlight to local people how crucial it is to shout about the great service they receive from local companies if our local economy is to thrive.
"It’s tough out there for our local businesses. They need our support more than ever as the economy and the climate seem to conspire to reduce footfall, tighten the purse strings of consumers and extend the decision making process for those providing business to business goods and services.
"I hope that everyone will join in this February to share their love for some of our amazing local businesses.”
Local people can take part in the 14 Days Of Love by writing reviews on the bestofhaverhill website in support of their favourite businesses in Haverhill and the surrounding area.
Simply upload a review to www.thebestof.co.uk/haverhill or fill in the testimonial cards provided by the business themselves.
All testimonials collected from March 1 last year to February 14 this year will be added to the website’s Love-O-Meter, which will ultimately decide who the ‘Most Loved’ businesses are, both locally and nationally.
A prize draw is also being run by ‘thebestof’ for the duration of the campaign. The local people who post reviews for local businesses will have the chance to win some fantastic prizes including an Orient Express Experience, a Michelin star restaurant dinner for two, a Silverstone Ferrari driving experience, a Sony Digital Camera and a Harrods Champagne and Truffle Hamper.
Last year the 14 Days Of Love was won by lettings agency Preview Property Services, who received 137 reviews from their clients to become the ‘most loved business in Haverhill’ and the ‘most loved letting agents in the UK’.
CXG Property Services, who are a lettings and estate agency, were the second ‘Most loved business in Haverhill’ and also came second in the lettings category nationally.
CW Courier Services were acknowledged as the third ‘most loved business in Haverhill’ and the ‘most loved cCourier in the UK’.
