Intrepid trek for Antony
Thursday, 20th January 2000.
LABORATORY technician Antony Hitchcock is planning a walk in the Himalayas to raise cash for the Arthritis Society.
Antony, 23, of Shaftsbury Court, Haverhill, must raise £2,000 in sponsorship to take part in the walk and is looking for support.
The former Haverhill sixth form pupil, who now works at Ciba Geigy, read about the challenge in Big Issue magazine.
He said: "It is about 70 miles, starting from Kathmandu, and goes to about 4,000m up. It will mean seven to nine hours walking a day."
Sponsorship forms are available from the News office in Queen Street, Haverhill.
