IFF town job boost
By Martin Chapman on Thursday, 30th August 2001.
MILLIONS of pounds of investment has been promised by International Fragrances and Flavours to secure the future of the Haverhill plant and will in turn create 60 new jobs.
The first phase began with a planning application for the building of a new laboratory costing £800,000 and office accommodation. The work is planned to be competed by Easter 2002.
The expansion is part of a £3 million investment in the Haverhill site to take place over the next eighteen months and follows the company’s acquisition of Bush Boake Allen earlier this year and the restructuring that followed.
However, former BAA staff will take many of the 60 new jobs.
General manager for the Haverhill site insisted though that it was “excellent news for Haverhill.”
“The new lab and offices will ensure we continue as market leader in fragrances and flavours,” he said.
IFF currently has over 70 sales, manufacturing and creative sites in more than 40 countries across the worldwide and annual revenue of around $1.9 billion.
