If we can't win like them, at least we can eat like them

Spain has found the winning formula for sport and now a new tapas restaurant will bring a slice of the country to Haverhill from this week.
It will be at Bar Vu in Jubilee Walk, and opens on Wednesday.
Chef Ben Allen has prepared some tasty treats for the menu including homemade lamb koftas with tzatziki yoghurt, Cajun chicken skewers, langoustines on skewers served with homemade chilli sauce and soft vine leaves served with flavoured mince or rice, to name a few.
Ben, who started his career as a chef at the Red Lion in Sturmer, was the head chef at the Red Lion in Horseheath and also worked as a chef at the two rosette restaurant of the Salthouse Harbour Hotel in Ipswich. More recently Ben had his own gastro pub called The Chequers in Kent.
Ben, who lives in Birdbook, said: “I took the inspiration for the new tapas menu from the cocktail bar and prepared dishes that I feel will compliment the drinks we serve upstairs.
"Tapas is very light for people who do not want a big meal when they are out on the town and it is perfect with cocktails.”
The restaurant, which will open Wednesday to Sunday from 6pm to 10pm, started taking bookings for the opening night before it was announced.
Owner Harry Zachariou, who also owns Deja Vu coffee shop in Queen Street, believes it is just the new type of eating establishment that Haverhill needs.
Harry said: “Tapas is a very social way of eating. Rather than having one big meal you can have as many or as little smaller dishes and combine them for a healthy supper.
"Tapas fits in very well with the cocktails and wines which we offer at Bar Vu and Haverhill needs a bit more variety in terms of eating out.”
