High Street turns into Covent Garden without the prices
Thursday, 3rd July 2014.
Haverhill Street Festival takes place this Saturday when, from 11am the High Street and Queen Street will be full of some weird and wonderful street performers.
There will be some rather pretentious art critics who see art in everything (darling), an Edwardian nanny with cheeky twin babies yet to master the art of civility and Bang On!, a junk percussion duo who make music from the most unlikely objects.
There will also be a team of spectacular silver skaters scooting around; the amusing, amazing, and sometimes eye-watering antics of acrobat AJ James and Bridie, an 8ft tall Irish tea-lady who is obsessed with crooner Dean Martin.
The Street Festival is free and organised by Haverhill Town Council as part of the Haverhill Festival.
Nick Keeble, Arts and Leisure Manager said: "Whatever the weather there will be something to liven up your Saturday shop this week. It’ll be like Covent Garden minus the exorbitant prices!"
