Haverhill Angling Club news
By Rupert Beynon on Wednesday, 11th July 2012.
Sunday, July 15, will see the next match take place at Long Pond in Clare, and hopefully the weather will be a bit kinder than it has been in the past few weeks.
The draw will take place at 9am and fishing will be from 10am till 4pm. This is a friendly match and members and guests are more than welcome. For more information call Dave Spencer on 07760190333.
The club's Rupert Beynon has recently returned from a fishing trip to Whiteacres fisheries in Cornwall where he was lucky enough to win a 102-entrant residents' match with a weight of 104lb 3oz, catching all carp using straight lead and pellet tacktics on peg 22 Trelawny Lake, with second place nearly 50lb behind with 56lb 6oz.
This was enough to win a trip back down to Cornwall to fish in the prestigious Parkdean Masters qualifing week in October.
Closer to home it has been reported that a large amount of rubbish is being left on the banks at the Floodpark. Not only does this look unsightly but it can have fatal results to the wildlife.
Please take your rubbish home and leave your swim how you would like to find it. Thank you.
