A word of warning - if you are using an elasticated pole and you become snagged up.
Most of us just pull on the elastic until it snaps. If this is the case, try to pull the elastic downwards and if possible get something in between you and the potentially deadly missile, as one of our members recently found out with the pole float going straight through his finger.
I won't name names, but on another matter if Danny Porter would like to borrow some more plasters... I will say no more.
The latest match took place on the silver fish lake at Clavering and again a walk-off would be the way to decide who fished which peg.
One side of the lake was favoured by the fair weather fishermen but the brave chose to fish into the north easterly chilly wind with the latter coming out on top.
All three top weights came on the pole, and the winner, using sweetcorn, with 26lb 1oz, was Danny Porter. Second, also using corn, was Nick Pluck with 21lb 4oz and third was Dave Reece using pellet and maggot for 20lb 4oz.
The next match is on the silver lake at Suffolk water park on Sunday, May 23.
