Haverhill – Man charged following assault
Thursday, 1st October 2015.
A-42-year-old man from Haverhill arrested in connection with an assault in the town has been charged.
The incident took place at around 6.20pm on Monday 28 September in Chalkstone Way, just past Coupals Close, where a 37-year-old man was attacked sustaining superficial cuts to the head.
David Butler, of Pipers Close, Haverhill, has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm with intent in relation to this incident.
He was also charged in connection with three other offences, which are as follows:
- One count of false imprisonment and one count of inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent, in connection with an incident occurring in Anglian Place, Haverhill on Sunday 13 September
- A theft in dwelling occurring at a house in Bramble Way, Haverhill, on Saturday 12 September, where items of jewellery were stolen;
Butler was remanded in custody and is due to appear before South East Suffolk Magistrates’ Court today, Thursday 1 October.
