Halloween Trail attracts crowd of over 3,000
Tuesday, 4th November 2014.
The Halloween Trail in East Town Park on Friday proved another spook-tastic success this year.
Haverhill Town Council’s annual bloodcurdling bash attracted over 3,000 people to see the startling sights and sounds which included a pumpkin nursery (where baby pumpkins in nappies learnt the art of being scary), a witch-filled wood and a fire garden and fire show.
Nick Keeble, arts and leisure manager for the town council said this year’s event was one of his favourites and that it was great to see lots of families – including mum and dad - getting into the spirit and dressing up.
He added: "I would like to thank everyone that helped out, not only the town council staff but also the Friends of East Town Park who prepared the park ready for the night."
For Colin Poole the new town clerk this was the first Halloween Trail he has experienced since he joined the town council earlier in the year.
He said: "I was very impressed with the community feel of the Halloween Trail. It was really enjoyable to be involved in such an upbeat event, where everyone was clearly having a ball! Long may it continue. Next year I might even dress up myself."
