Hairdressers find a new home as Fredys closes
Friday, 18th December 2009.
One of Haverhill's long-established businesses came to an end this week when hair salon Fredys ceased trading.
The salon in Haverhill High Street has closed indefinitely and the most of the staff have moved to Hair Design in Queen Street.
Fredy Pfiffner had had a salon in Haverhill for more than 25 years, and had recently moved across the road from the relatively new premises next to Haverhill Arts Centre.
Five hairdressers and two assistants from the salon have found new chairs at Hair Design.
Hair Design owner Lisa Harling said they had wanted to keep together as they had worked alongside each other for a long time, and they had approached her as she had space in her salon.
They began work from there this week and their clients are being redirected there.
"They needed somewhere quickly because this is a very busy time of year for them," said Lisa.
