Group Offers Care
Thursday, 13th May 2004.
A new child minding group has been formed at Haverhill, offering 24-hour childcare, seven days a week.
The group was formed last December under the guidance of Suffolk Couty Council's Childcare Support And Development Team.
All its members are OFSTED registered child minders, which means they and their homes are regularly inspected and must be covered by insurance.
The group meets once a week for all the children to socialise together and be involved in group activities. It has already started a partnership with the NHS childcare co-ordinator and is involved in planning the new Cartwheels Children's Centre.
Members of the group aim to provide a family environment and a small adult to child ratio to help children feel safe and secure.
Children experience a wide renge of activities including library visits, park outings, toddler groups, picnics and days out.
"It is always very difficult for parents to leave their 'bundle of joy'" said group member Melody Shannon.
"The Haverhill Childminding Group are on hand to help make this experience as painless as possible with their hreat understanding of parents and their wealth of experience."
Anyone who would like more information about the group can contact the vacancy co-ordinator on (01440)713668
