HAVERHILL juniors Ryan Wingate and Benn Gunn have been invited to join the Suffolk under 16 Boys County Squad. Ryan and Ben have now moved up from the under 14 group where Ryan has acted as County Captain for the past two wars. The boys will be joining the club’s Vice Captain. Roger Campbell, in the Suffolk movement. Roger being on the county main committee also has an appointment as assistant manger to the under 16’s.

The mid-week medal at Coupals Road was a split competition in which the winners of both the middle and higher sections returned four under 66s. John Kennedy took the middle group with a 66 which was two ahead of Malcom Kemp. A further shot back on 69 was John’s playing partner David Pipe. The other low round was by junior Matthew Eccleston who finished one-up on Tony Lisber (67) who in turn was placed third. Alan Carter (68) led in the two handicappers finishing one ahead of Mick Warren and two in front of Darryl Baters.
