Golden Graham makes a super start to 2001

Young race walker Andrew Graham got the New Year off to a good start by winning his first event in the under 13 age group.
Andrew, 11, from Haverhill won the 2.5 km New Years Day London Walks event in Victoria Park finishing 30 seconds ahead of the next competitor.
The hugely promising youngster has won numerous events as an under 11 - and regularly beaten much older boys along the way.
On February 4 he will return to Victoria Park for the London Grand Prix Championships and has also been invited to a southern area-coaching clinic with Dartford Harriers.
Andrew, who is in Year 5, is representing Chalkstone Middle School for Year 6 at cross-country at Framlingham on January 17.
As part of his action packed start to the year 2001, he will also take part in the Suffolk championships on January 7.
