Going batty in the park
Thursday, 28th September 2000.
A TASTE of life as a bat was offered to youngsters who visited Haverhill's East Town Park for a Best of Bats session.
The event was organised by the Haverhill Wildlife Watch Club and to get an idea of how bats cope in the dark, youngsters went for a blindfolded walk in the woods.
It was a chance to see how other senses work and to use noses and voices to their advantage.
The event was part of the club's regular programme, usually meeting on the third Saturday of the month.
The next session on Saturday, October 14, from 2pm to 4pm, will be about the country code and how to become environmentally friendly.
