Glorious sunshines draws the crowds
Thursday, 30th August 2001.
GLORIOUS sunshine over the Bank Holiday meant large crowds gathered for Haverhill Rugby Club’s Beer Festival and a Children’s Fun day on Castle Playing Fields.
Due to the unreliable weather in the previous years the Town Council decided to move the children’s fun day from the usual May to the August Bank Holiday, meaning it coincided with the Rugby Club’s annual beer festival.
Children and adults were treated to an array of entertainment including a human football table, a rodeo and a bouncy castle. The Rugby Club also held a beach part on Saturday evening and a duck race on the Sunday.
The club’s new season is launched on Saturday with a match against Thurston, kick-off is at 3pm.
The club is continually looking for new players and spectators are always welcome to support the club. Any interested players should should ring (01440) 702871.
