Global Healthcare Group Comes to Haverhill
Sunday, 20th July 2008.
An Indian-owned global healthcare group has taken a new 22,220 sq ft building at Homefield Business Park, Haverhill, for immediate occupation and ordered a further 10,000 sq ft of accommodation to be built on an adjoining site.
Accord Heathcare Limited is a marketing subsidiary of Intas Pharmaceuticals Limited, of India. Intas, one of India’s fastest-growing healthcare companies, has a presence in 42 countries and is engaged in manufacturing, research and development.
The firm, which has worldwide sales of more than £100 million and a UK base in London, chose Haverhill because of the good access to London and the east coast ports. The company will use the Haverhill facility for packaging and distributing pharmaceutical products.
Companies already at the Homefield Business Park include Figleaves-.com, the internet lingerie firm, which took a 36,000 sq ft unit and Sigma Aldrich which occupies a state of the art 20,000 sq ft unit. Facilities are also currently being developed for a veterinary surgery, a child day care facility and an office unit.
Developer Angus Bates of LEA Investments said: “We have been successful in attracting a number of large occupiers to Homefield Business Park. The location of the park is excellent, having direct access onto the Haverhill Bypass.
“In addition we have offered competitive, flexible deals on good quality buildings built to time, in attractive surroundings and with a CB postcode area for a multitude of uses. Its location offers good road links with easy access to Cambridge and London.”
East of England International in Cambridge worked with the company to find the ideal space to grow from this region.
