Fund raisers turn from roulette to racing
Tuesday, 26th June 2012.
After hosting highly successful and well supported Charity Casino Evenings in 2010 and 2011, two local companies will be adding a new twist to their annual charity fund raiser for 2012.
Marketing specialists The Best of Haverhill and local accountancy firm Jacobs Allen Ltd, in association with the Haverhill Chamber of Commerce, will be hosting a Charity Race Night on Thursday, August 16.
The fund raiser will take place at the Days Inn in Haverhill and is open to all local people, not just the business community.
The event is in support of St Nicholas Hospice Care and is part of the Towergate Accumulator Challenge that Jacobs Allen Ltd is taking part in.
Paul Donno, from Jacobs Allen said: “We are organising a number of fund raising events during the course of the Accumulator Challenge and we are delighted to be working with the Best of Haverhill and Haverhill Chamber on the Charity Race Night.
"We thought we would go for a race night this year for a change, they can be a lot of fun and present some great fund raising opportunities.”
Tickets for the Charity Race Night cost £19.95 per person and include a two-course Indian buffet, provided by Haverhill Tandoori.
Tables can be reserved and ticket sales will be available via the online booking system Eventbrite, and will incur a small booking fee.
Elaine Carr, owner of The Best of Haverhill, said: “Our Charity Casino Evenings have always been well supported but we thought this year we would try something different.
"The theme will be Ladies Day at the Races – so there is still plenty of opportunity for the ladies to get dressed up in lovely dresses and high heels, although hats are optional!
"The Days Inn provides an excellent venue for the race night; the team are experts in hosting all manner of functions and events from weddings to business conferences.
"Haverhill Tandoori will be working with us to provide the catering for the evening, their food is excellent and they are keen to showcase their expertise in event catering.”
If you would like to sponsor a race, a horse, owner or a jockey please contact Paul Donno on 01440 707184 or Elaine Carr on 01440 710158.
There will be a raffle on the evening and donations of raffle prizes would be gratefully received.
