Fostering roadshow comes to town next month
Friday, 8th April 2011.
One of Suffolk County Council's annual fostering roadshows will be held in Haverhill next month in a bid to recruit more families.
The council's fostering and adoption services are urgently appealing to anyone that has ever considered fostering or adopting to get in touch and find out more.
Currently the council has almost 800 children in care and over 40 of these children are waiting to be adopted.
Unfortunately however, there are not enough foster carers or adopters for all the children and young people who need them.
Many of these children, who have been separated from their parents and possibly siblings through no fault or desire of their own, are looking for the stability of a loving caring home where they can feel safe and secure until they go back to their families or move onto adoption.
The roadshow will take place at Haverhill Tesco on Friday, May 20, from 10am to 3pm, when peole can find out a lot more about hat is involved in fostering.
