Flag festival to be carried on next year
Thursday, 15th November 2012.
Haverhill is to be festooned with flags again next summer, as the town council has agreed to press ahead with an £11,500 Flag Festival.
Flags will be designed for each season to be flown from the new flagpole on top of the church.
In the summer all four seasons’ flags will be used to deck out the streets similar to the way flags were used for the Jubilee and Olympics this summer.
Members of the council's community and leisure committee were told by arts and leisure manager Nick Keeble this year's summer flag display had proved one of the town council’s most popular initiatives ever.
