Extreme weather warning again for motorists tonight
Wednesday, 9th May 2012.
There is no let-up in the weather and Suffolk police have issued a warning about rain and high winds again tonight.
Persistent heavy rain is expected to spread across our region tonight and into tomorrow, accompanied by strong to gale force winds in some areas.
As a result, police say, it is important that people are aware that the rain will bring difficult driving conditions and, given that the ground remains wet following recent rainfall, also the risk of localised flooding.
They advise that motorists should be aware that the heavy rainfall is likely to result in standing water on roads – and should exercise caution and drive according to conditions.
