Drop-in consultations about fire merger - but not here
Thursday, 8th November 2012.
SUFFOLK residents are invited to have their say on proposals for further collaboration up to a full merger between Suffolk and Cambridgeshire fire and rescue services at three drop-in events this month - but none in Haverhill.
The informal events are taking place at three of the county’s libraries as follows:
Monday, November 19, 9.30am to 1pm, Lowestoft Library;
Wednesday, November 21, 1pm to 5pm, Bury St Edmunds Library;
Monday, November 26, 9.30am to 1pm and 2pm to 5pm, Ipswich County Library.
The informal events are an opportunity for people to come and find out more about the proposals for further collaboration up to a full merger between the two fire services, and have their say as part of the three-month consultation which started on October 22 and will close on January 14.
Cllr Colin Spence, cabinet member for public protection, said: “I would urge as many people as possible to come along and find out more about the proposals at these events.
"This consultation will be critical to our final decision in the New Year, and your feedback is therefore extremely important.”
More information about the proposals and an online questionnaire are available from www.suffolk.gov.uk/consultations
