Double strike on vans by thieves of power tools
Tuesday, 3rd June 2014.
Police are appealing for witnesses after tools were stolen from two vans in Haverhill.
The incidents occurred overnight between Sunday and Monday.
The first theft took place in Victoria Road where a silver Vauxhall Vivaro van parked in the street was entered and a quantity of power tools were stolen from inside, the details of which the victim is still compiling.
The second incident took place in North Avenue where a white Ford Transit van parked in a front garden was entered and tools including drills and a disc cutter were stolen from inside.
Anyone with information about these incidents is asked to contact PC John Moore at Haverhill Police Station on 101 quoting reference HH/14/1081, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
Motorists are reminded to always remove property from inside their vehicles where possible.
If for any reason tools and equipment have to be left in vans, it is advised to store them within a fixed and secure strongbox.
