Don't buy alcohol for under-age youngsters, police urge
Monday, 3rd June 2013.
With the warmer weather and the exam season, police are warning about gangs of under-age youngsters hanging about outside shops trying to persuade adults to buy alcohol or cigarettes for them.
PC Will Wright of Haverhill Safer Neighbourhood Team said if anyone was approached they should stand up to the gang and refuse and, if harassed or intimidated, contact police as this could constitute a public order offence.
The next Safer Neighbourhood Team public forum takes place on Monday evening at 7pm at Samuel Ward Academy and police are keen to hear from anyone who is experiencing any anti-social behaviour issues anywhere in the town.
