Dip into film world for ambitious Junipers
By Martin Chapman on Monday, 4th February 2002.
Junipers the junior section of the Steeple Bumpstead Players are embarking on an ambitious project to produce a short film.
Last year, the Junipers, who are more accustomed to the stage produced the musical “Sweeney Todd – the Shock ‘n’ Roll show’ which was highly successful, now the group are dipping into the world of video media for the first time, with the aid of Sally Roberts, of the multi@rts project.
The group has 23 members and has already come up with a few ideas, however these won’t be set in stone until the group completes a number of training workshops and discover the exciting world of digital editing. Ideas expressed already revolve around the world of TV Entertainment.
Speaking about the project, Teresa Pollington, of the Junipers said: “I think this experience would be of great benefit to any teenager considering drama, media studies or IT as a career.”
Participants who should be aged between 12 and 17, will be required to pay just £10 towards the project and commit to attending two multi@rts training sessions, in filming and video editing as well as between two and five sessions to film and edit the film.
The group also hope to use the Blue Screen at the Junction Digital Studio in Cambridge for one of the filming sessions.
The official launch of the project will take place at 7 pm on Thursday at Steeple Bumpstead Village Hall, and it is hoped that the final edit of the film will be shown at Haverhill Arts Centre in the autumn of this year.
