Details of Sunday's Remembrance observances in Haverhill
Friday, 8th November 2013.
It’s Remembrance time on Sunday and Haverhill will be following its traditional programme of observances in the afternoon, despite calls for the timing to be brought in line with many other places to take place in the morning.
At 2.15pm the Haverhill Royal British Legion parade marches off from the Arts Centre Car Park; at 2.25pm the Civic Procession leaves to go to Haverhill cemetery, following the parade; at 2.40pm all assemble at the cemetery for a wreath laying ceremony led by the Mayor of St Edmundsbury Cllr Terry Buckle and the Town Mayor of Haverhill Cllr Roger Andre.
The parade then returns to the High Street for taking of a salute on the dais outside the Council Offices as the it marches past to St Mary’s Church for the Remembrance Service
At around 3.15pm the service in St Mary’s Church takes place, concluding at 4.15pm and followed by tea in the Library for invited guests.
