Deadline for developers
Thursday, 27th January 2000.
A TIMETABLE for roads and landscaped areas at the Hanchett Village development in Haverhill to be brought up to adoption standard has been agreed by councillors.
Members of St Edmundsbury Borough Councillor's Transport and Works Committee also agreed to consider using the developers' bond if there was a serious failure to comply with the timetable.
Councillors were told that residents had expressed concern about delays and action had already been taken in the magistrates' court against the developer for failing to complete landscaping.
St Edmundsbury holds more than £1.5 million in bonds and cash deposits from the developer, to be used if the firm went into liquidation or failed to complete the work.
The timetable agreed by the committee would see most of the roads and other areas brought up to adoption standard by July this year.
