Deadline draws near for latest grant applications

With just under one month to go until the deadline for applications for ONE Haverhill’s Community Grant Scheme, organisations are being reminded to get their applications in quickly.
Are you embarking upon or thinking about a project which could improve opportunities for people in Haverhill or improve the physical environment of the town? Would you like up to £5,000 for your project?
Groups and organisations can apply for up to £5,000 from a special grant pot, made available to ONE Haverhill by St Edmundsbury Borough Council. The deadline for applications is Thursday, November 13, at 10am.
Applications must demonstrate that the funding will make a real difference to the people of Haverhill, have clear objectives and plans for the project and how they will measure its effectiveness.
Applications are considered from groups which fulfil at least three or more of the following key criteria:
Provides significant benefit for the people of Haverhill;
Provides value for money;
Promotes health and wellbeing;
Promotes community involvement;
Supports local solutions to meet local needs;
Promotes community cohesion/inclusion;
Works in partnership with others;
Provides matched funding;
Provides evidence of sustainability.
Application forms and criteria can be downloaded from the ONE Haverhill website at www.onehaverhill.co.uk/community-grants. Previous applicants can apply.
Sarah Howard, chairman of the ONE Haverhill board, said: “At this time of year, the time period approaching Christmas goes very quickly so we want to remind organisations in the town of the deadline for applications for community grants.
“We have over the last few years given over £60,000 of grants funding provided by St Edmundsbury Borough Council to local organisations to help them get projects off the ground or to continue their good work.
"We urge people considering making an applications to get their form in quickly so they do not miss out. Help will their submission is also available.”
ONE Haverhill is an independent partnership that is bringing organisations and resources together to make them more effective and efficient in the town – providing ONE voice for Haverhill.
