Deadline approaches for community grant applications
Tuesday, 27th March 2012.
Community groups and organisations in Haverhill are being urged to submit their applications for up to £5,000 in grant funding before time runs out.
Groups and organisations can apply for up to £5,000 from a special grant pot, made available to ONE Haverhill by St Edmundsbury Borough Council, to fund projects that will benefit Haverhill people. The deadline for applications is Sunday, April 8.
Applications will be considered from groups which meet three or more key criteria. They must also demonstrate that the funding will make a real difference to the people of Haverhill, have clear objectives and plans for the project and how they will measure its effectiveness.
Anne Gower, chair of One Haverhill, said: "This is money held locally to be spent locally. I would like to encourage all groups, no matter how small, to put in a bid for some funding and I am looking forward to seeing that money working for the town and its residents.”
One Haverhill is a board set up last year to bring together a range of stakeholders including all three tiers of local government, the business sector, education, police, health and others as one voice with the aim of improving the quality of life for people in Haverhill.
For more information about the grant funding available (including application forms and criteria) is available at www.stedmundsbury.gov.uk/sebc/work/onehaverhill.cfm or by calling 01440 712858.
Completed application forms should be sent to One Haverhill Grants Scheme, c/o Haverhill Arts Centre, High Street, Haverhill, CB9 8AR.
