County consults on strategy to grow local economy
Tuesday, 22nd January 2013.
Views on a Suffolk Growth Strategy are being called for during a consultation period starting this week.
In the form of a survey, businesses and individuals across Suffolk are being asked to comment on the proposed strategy, with an opportunity to express their views until Friday, February 8.
Suffolk County Council has been working with partners in district and borough councils to develop an effective strategy for Suffolk that will deliver economic growth, create more jobs and increase prosperity.
The strategy defines the public sector’s ambitions and how local councils, by working together, intend to achieve these goals and enable the growth of the private sector across Suffolk as a whole.
Cllr Judy Terry, cabinet member for economic development, said; “The quality of life for everyone working and living in Suffolk is affected by the economic growth in the county.
“Our ambition, through this strategy, is to create even more high-value jobs across the county and ensure Suffolk is home to businesses that play a prime role in driving the sustainable growth of the UK economy.
“I would urge local businesses and individuals to take the time to read through the strategy and give us their feedback to help shape the future of Suffolk’s economic growth.”

The final version of the strategy is set to be launched on Wednesday, February 27.
